Our Grape Varieties, Our Wines

The Estate and its King Variety: Chenin

For 4 generations, Château de Brossay has been cultivating 7 grape varieties with pure respect for traditions and the soil. This passion allows us to offer a wide range of wines capable of appealing to every palate, from the novice to the enlightened enthusiast.

Our king variety, Chenin, is available as Crémant de Loire, Anjou Blanc, and Coteaux du Layon. Appreciated for its aromas of honey and citrus, this highly versatile wine offers remarkable food and wine pairings, enhancing everything from seafood to foie gras or fruit-based desserts.

Beyond Chenin, our terroir is expressed through our Rosés de Loire (Cabernet, Grolleau) and our other whites (Chardonnay, Sauvignon). A unique diversity for an unforgettable tasting experience with every bottle.

Chenin, the estate's king variety

The emblematic grape variety of Château de Brossay, Chenin reveals all the richness of our Loire terroir. Versatile and elegant, it is featured in Crémant de Loire, Anjou Blanc, and Coteaux du Layon. Its aromas of honey and citrus offer remarkable food and wine pairings, from seafood to fruit desserts.

White grape varieties

Alongside Chenin, Chardonnay and Sauvignon complete our range of white wines, bringing freshness, finesse, and diversity to satisfy every palate.

Red grape varieties: Cabernets

Our red wines are crafted from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc expresses notes of red fruits, violet, and spices, while Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, depth, and dark fruit aromas that reveal themselves over time.
